Are you "planet-positive"?

Tomorrow is Earth Day. I'll be honest I've never really paid too much attention to the environment and such until a year ago. Since then I've made changes in my lifestyle as my contribution to protecting and perhaps reversing damage already made to our environment. They are by no means grand gestures, just things like buying locally at the Farmer's Market (cuts down emissions and waist lines) as much as possible; reusing and recycling plastics and other containers; and growing my own plants for herbs and seasonings (saves money too). This year I'm adding to my list by swapping out all my cleaning supplies to an environmentally one. I found a great line, Legacy of Clean, that does the job, environmentally friendly, smells great and easy on the nose (my dog appreciates this). The process, product and package of Legacy of Clean are all "planet-positive".

So my question to you is what changes will you adopt to be "planet-positive"?

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!

Run Fat Girl, Run!!!

About 2 years ago, I woke up and said "Enough is enough". I felt as if I were a bystander in my own life. So I did two things, first I looked for a therapist online and then I looked for a gym. Found both in the same week and two years later I am more at peace with myself and have lost over 60 pounds, and still have some ways to go. Now two years later, I realize that my journey is just beginning - I now have to dig deeper and push harder to "build me". One of the ways i'm going to accomplish that is to run. Not just run a few laps but work towards running a marathon. The most I've ever ran is 6 miles and that was more of a trot and I could hardly move my legs for a week. Training for a marathon takes deep down discipline and stamina I'm not even sure I have, but I suppose we'll all find that out.

By the way, I'm always looking for a running/trotting partner, so feel free to join me!!!
